Show affiliationsApproximate Hamiltonians for the one-dimensional (1D) Calogero and two-dimensional (2D) anyon models in a harmonic well are constructed. These Hamiltonians are exactly diagonalizable, and their spectra interpolate linearly between the Bose statistics and the Fermi statistics. In particular, in 2D, the thermodynamics is similar to that of a system obeying a generalized exclusion principle and may be viewed as a starting approximation for the thermodynamics of anyons.
