Show affiliationsThe optimization procedure of finite-time thermodynamics is extended in order to calculate the coefficient of performance of ideal refrigerators at maximum cooling power. For this purpose, the cycle time has to be altered somewhat to allow for the occurrence of adiabatic arms in the cycle.
