From January 2007, EDP Sciences and IOP have jointly taken responsibility for subscription fulfilment of EPL: EPL is included in IOP's Packages A, B and the IOPscience extra licence package, while EDP Sciences continue to invoice and fulfil subscriptions for customers who do not take one of IOP's Packages; IOP now hosts the journal online.

In 2019, an online-only non-pack subscription to EPL includes:

• Online access to the volumes published in 2019 (volumes 125–128)
• Online access to a 10-year archive (all volumes published 2009–2018), now with full reference linking via Crossref
