Show affiliationsThe factorization method for inverse elliptic problems finds inclusions in a domain, given the Neumann-to-Dirichlet operator associated with the elliptic equation. In practice, one only knows an approximation of this data set in some finite-dimensional space. This work deals with the question of in which sense the series criterion of the factorization method can be extended to such situations. We show that regularization by spectral cut-off can be used to construct finite-dimensional factorization methods.
