On the detection of particle and energy fluxes in two dimensions

The problem of the connection between particle and energy fluxes from moving mirrors is considered. The example of Fulling and Davies (1976, 1977) where an energy flux is claimed to be distinct from a particle flux is reconsidered and it is shown, by the use of an explicit particle detector, that the particle flux is exactly that expected, given the energy flux.
