Bondi mass in the NQS gauge

Robert Bartnik

Show affiliations

We analyse the asymptotic structure of the gravitational field in null quasi-spherical (NQS) coordinates, and show that the Bondi mass is well-defined and satisfies the Trautman–Bondi mass-loss formula along an outgoing null hypersurface, assuming only a rather weak decay condition on the intrinsic geometry of the hypersurface.
