Demonstrating edge diffraction with microwaves

Benjamin Perkalskis1 and Paul Gluck2

Show affiliations

In this paper we present two experiments on edge diffraction using commonly available microwave equipment in physics departments. The demonstrations are simply interpreted in terms of Young's ideas on diffraction and show phase properties of edge waves first proven by Sommerfield and Rubinowitz.
