A technique is described of administering liquid radioactive aerosols of homogeneous activity to an ape through the respiratory tract; direct contamination of the alimentary tract is thus avoided. The technique enables the inhaled and the exhaled activity to be directly evaluated, thus permitting the determination of the activity actually retained in the air-passages of the animal. The apparatus used reduces the risks to which the experimenters are subjected.
