Fusion Energy Conferences

The IAEA Fusion Energy Conference (FEC)

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) supports the exchange of scientific and technical information on fusion research through conferences, meetings and projects.

The biennial IAEA Fusion Energy Conferences provide a forum for presenting and discussing the progress that is being made in fusion experiments, theory and technological developments.

The 23rd FEC (2010) was held in Daejon, Korea.

The Nuclear Fusion journal is the scientific platform where FEC Overviews and Summary Papers are published. Contributors of other conference presentations are also encouraged to write up new results in the form of papers to be submitted to the journal.

FEC Overview and Summary Papers published in Nuclear Fusion

22ND FEC - GENEVA, SWITZERLAND, 13-18 OCTOBER 2008

21ST FEC - CHENGDU, CHINA, 16 – 21 OCTOBER 2006

20TH FEC - VILAMOURA, PORTUGAL, 1 - 6 NOVEMBER 2004

19TH FEC - LYON, FRANCE, 14 - 19 OCTOBER 2002

18TH FEC - SORRENTO, ITALY, 4 - 10 OCTOBER 2000

17TH FEC - YOKOHAMA, JAPAN, 19 - 24 OCTOBER 1998

Regular papers based on conference presentations

Any contributed paper of the Fusion Energy Conference (FEC) which is submitted to Nuclear Fusion has to be extended into a manuscript that meets the usual requirements of regular papers in Nuclear Fusion. Such manuscripts will be subject to the standard double-referee peer review.

A list of Nuclear Fusion articles based on papers presented at the 22nd IAEA Fusion Energy Conference, Geneva, 2008 is now online.

The Nuclear Fusion journal prize
We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2010 Nuclear Fusion Award is JE Rice, for the paper 'Inter-machine comparison of intrinsic toroidal rotation in tokamaks' (Nucl. Fusion 47 1618–24) . Click here for more information
