LETTER

The influence of radial transport of electrons during radiofrequency current drive in a plasma and in the presence of an electric field is discussed. A response function technique is utilized to calculate radial diffusion during lower hybrid wave current drive. The consequences of the combined influences of radial diffusion and electric field acceleration are discussed
