Condensate spin currents in helium-3

M Vuorio

Show affiliations

Condensate spin currents are discussed in the Ginsburg-Landau framework for the Anderson-Brinkman (1973) and the Balian-Werthamer (1963) p-wave states of helium-3. The dipolar energy is calculated, and its effect on the stability of the spin current states is considered. Minimization of the free-energy expression is used to obtain values for the critical velocities.
