Show affiliationsA 87Rb NMR experiment was carried out on a single crystal of Rb0.3MoO3 by applying a pulse current at 77K. With increasing current, the NMR lineshape varied from a double-horned one at zero current to a single-line spectrum at a high current level. This line narrowing can be attributed to the motional narrowing effect due to the sliding motion of CDW. The sliding velocity was estimated to be about 10-2 cm s-1 for the current density 7 A cm-2, around which the motional narrowing occurred. From this relationship between the sliding velocity and the applied current, the electron density was found to be 4*1021 electrons cm-3, which was consistent with the value estimated from the chemical formula of the compound under study.
