Importance of the kinetic energy expression for the bound electron in the binary collision theory of ionization

D N Tripathi and D K Rai

Show affiliations

Electron impact ionization cross sections of alkali metal atoms have been calculated using Gryzinski (1965), Vriens (1964) and Burgess formulae. Kinetic energy of the bound electron has been estimated by Slater's rule. Comparison with experimental results has been made.
