Radiation overcooling of bulk-ionised multiply charged ion plasma

Examines the possibility of producing an overcooled plasma of multiply charged ions (Z=20-30) by exposing an optically thin medium to external photons with a Planck spectrum. The case of a non-expanding plasma is considered. Radiation cooling is shown to be rather efficient.
