Positron-lithium scattering using the eigenstate expansion method

Show affiliations

Elastic and excitation cross sections for positron-lithium scattering have been calculated using the close-coupling method in the incident energy region 2.0-10.0 eV. Various target bases are employed in the coupling scheme. The effect of added eigenstates in the expansion of the total wavefunction is significant in the energy region considered. The convergence of the elastic and excitation cross sections is discussed. Total cross sections for positron-lithium scattering have also been predicted. The inelastic collisions dominate the scattering.
